quick update

Hey all! So I'm back at Camp, for one of our last official camping weekends... Labor Day Family Camp! The weekend camps are great because A) we don't have to keep a close eye on the kids since the parents are here, and 2) they are just totally laid-back. Next weekend is Women's Weekend, which should also be enjoyable and relaxing, then there is just one more contracted week and I'm officially done with my summer! That is good, cuz I'm tired, but bad also cuz I don't have a job yet.

On the job front, I was trying my hardest to land a Traveler's position at a hospital here in Spokane. Unfortunately, this is the one city on earth where there is no call for travel nurses, even if I go outside of the Oncology field! Boo! So, I am currently trying to decide between settling for a travel position somewhere else, or just getting a real job here in Spokane. I have a couple of interviews for various staff jobs here, so I'm going to see how that goes and make my decision in the next week or so. But at this point, it's looking like Spokane is the place I want to be which I am really excited about! It is nice to be home, and close to all my Seattle friends/fam as well!

Slip 'n Slide (me and Tori)

More sweet Slip 'n Slide tricks! (you should have seen the sweet bruises I got from that one...)

superpost #1

okay not so super... can't get pics to upload via the Camp server. So i'll just tell you what I'm doing, then post pics on Tuesday when I get home.

We just finished the regular Camp season with Senior High last week - I was the liaison for that Camp (meaning I did all the planning, scheduling, grunt work, etc) and it was AMAZING. So much fun!!! Pia even came out for most of the week to help in the kitchen. Some highlights of the week included a Raid on Camp Lutherhaven (our "archenemies" across the lake), Lutherhaven retaliating and raiding us but then we dominated them with funoodles and a fire hose, an Olympics-themed dance (I got to light the torch), a pig roast (RIP Hank), so many crazy games that the kids started complaining about being too tired, the Sheriff visiting because we were too loud, and LOTS more! I am exhausted!

Right now we are into Post-Season, which consists mainly of weekend camps and group rentals... Camp NoLimits is here now, which is a camp for kids with missing limbs and their families. These kids are incredible, you wouldn't even know they were disabled if it weren't for the prostheses lying around the Ball Field and legs flying off while swinging! ;)

still here (sorta)!

Just a quick note to let you know I'm alive, exhausted, happy and SUPER busy so I will be making up for my lack of blogging with 3-10 super posts next week!

Thanks and I love ya! Camp is amazing, busy, fun, tiring, and almost over...

Dirty Thirty!

My bud Michele turns the big 3-0 this weekend! I am off to Vegas to help celebrate, and couldn't be more excited!!! She is the funniest, craziest girl I know and always up for a great time... Must be the Texan in her! I, sadly, only get to go for 1 night, but she'll be partying it up all weekend! Love you Mish!!!

barely awake...

It's been a LONG couple of weeks! But we finally get a break, so I'm blogging from the comfort of my mom's couch... Where the internet is (slightly) faster, which means you get pics! Yay! After a fun, but crazy, Mid High session at Camp we spent the past week doing manual labor and planning out as a staff. Yesterday we went on our Staff Retreat, which included a fun morning on the Lutherhaven High Ropes course - where I actually made it off the platform and was way braver than last year! - and then an afternoon of BBQ and water sports on the Spokane River!

Kate, Kaitrin and I getting ready to head up to the High Ropes course...

Up amongst the trees! And still smiling...

Kate and I looking tan and happy on the boat, despite the crap weather

Me, Greg, Brit, Meredith and Mike

Greg and I NOT watching the tubers... And he makes me look really tan ;)
