Songs of '08

My cute cousin Megs had the idea to do a "mix tape" of songs that she love in 2008, and threw the challenge out to do the same... so here goes.

Here are the rules:

-The songs do not have to be released in the particular year that you are making the CD...rather they are songs that have been discovered or rediscovered and have been particular meaningful or enjoyable or worth listening to that year for some reason.

-no repeats from year to year (this prevents the CD from being an all-time favorites album).

-you can include as many songs by one artist as you want.

-songs are limited to those that fit on a standard 80 minute CD.

p.s. - Megan, I am NOT timing this list, so I'll just aim for the average mixed tape length... ;)

Katie's Kick-Ass Cornucopia of Music, 2008 edition

1. Oh Boy - Duffy
(just so pretty)
2. A-Punk - Vampire Weekend (Vampire-y and peppy!)
3. Wait (the Whisper Song) - Ying Yang Twins (Camp staff inappropriateness)
4. Mrs. Officer - Lil Wayne (i heart you Wayne)
5. In the Ayer - Flo Rida (Vegas weekend theme song!)
6. Chasing Pavements - Adele (love her voice)
7. Yellow Ledbetter - Pearl Jam (more Camp memories, 2 funny boys)
8. Our Song - Taylor Swift (heart her)
9. Creep - Radiohead (2008 is officially "The Year Katie pulled her head out and discovered the joy that is Radiohead")
10. Circus - Britney (cuz she is a whole lotta crazy but you love her anyways)
11. Single Ladies (put a ring on it) - Beyonce (um, this lady rocks a unitard/bathing suit thingy in her video)
12. Paper Planes - M.I.A. (over it now, but loved it for a whole summer)
13. 4 Minutes - Madonna & Justin Timberlake (see above)
14. Be Here Now - Ray LaMontagne (no list complete without some Ray)
15. American Boy - Estelle & Kanye (awesomeness)
16. Seven Nation Army - White Stripes (just cuz it's good)
17. Don't Stop Believing - Journey (this will probably make my list EVERY year)
