out with the old...

Happy new year, everyone! I haven't been in much of a blogging mood lately, what with dealing with the wreckage that is my car and the holiday hoopla and all that... But I thought I'd do a quick New Year's post so people would get off my ass.

2008 was a pretty awesome year... It's hard to believe that this time last year I was road-tripping down to Los Angeles in my brand new car with my mom! I got to spend an incredible 5 1/2 months in LA doing such fun things as catching up with my BFF Sara (whom I've known since 6th grade - that makes it about 17 years, yikes!); traveling around SoCal - revisited San Diego and all over the Los Angeles area - enough to know I would never want to live there permanently; saw the Dodgers and Angels play some games (and the M's, but they hardly counted this year); swam in the ocean; visited Disneyland with my other BFF's Michele and Bethany (who live vicariously through my travel nursing and visit me wherever i go); saw a couple VERY d-list celebs.

After LA, it was back to the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene for a wonderful 2nd summer at Camp Cross as their Nurse and Asst Program Director - this basically means I got to spend 4 months running, swimming, canoeing, laughing, praying, acting like a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old and a 17-year-old all at the same time, making up new games of Tag, singing, joking, playing... I think you get the idea. I love that I have gotten the chance to work at Camp, it is so amazing as a 27-year-old to be able to leave the 'real world' behind and work somewhere where life is so pure and fun and hard work and amazing...

Upon the end of the very fun Camp season, it was back to the Real World and onto a new adventure for me - my first non-travel nursing job in 2 years. I wasn't (and am still not) totally ready to say I'm done Travel Nursing, but I have not regretted coming to work in Spokane for one second since i've been here! I love being closer to family, and all my travels have only managed to show me just how much I love living in the Pacific Northwest. The scenery is unrivaled, the people are nice and laid-back, we get all 4 seasons (although i am kinda mad at the snow at this point...)! It has been wonderful, and life at Cancer Care Northwest has been great thus far.

As for 2009, I have no idea how it'll turn out... But I'm hoping for laughs, fun, adventure, silliness, love, joy, etc, etc.

oh def. name the fat annoying ones P & M. How do you think the neighbor girls got those names? Not bc they were delightful to be around, that's for sure. At least I think they were annoying. Wait, maybe the Sundstroms were the annoying ones...

in retrospect P and M were very nice girls, I think the annoying parts came from the "other" side of the street.
