more adventures with Sara & Katie

Yes, I have another ridiculous story courtesy of hanging out with Sara...

So last night we made plans to go get some dinner, as I have been jones-ing for a Margarita. So I agree to pick Miss Sara up from Stu's loft and drive to dinner. I am almost there, have just called Sara to come meet me downstairs, when I notice flashing police lights just up ahead. (Mind you, we are in downtown LA, so not a huge shocker.) I am motioned by a cop to slow down, which I do, and notice a huge crowd gathered around police tape on my left. I of course have to get a better look, and notice that there is a display window broken out and a female BODY in the window!!! I am a wee bit shocked (not enough to turn around and gawk again, but enough to tell Sara about it...). I did notice a few cameras just after, but couldn't decide if they were news cameras covering a murder or if it was some movie shooting (this being LA and all). But the cops seemed pretty real, so I just decided it was a murder.

Well, when Sara got in the car, I immediately had to tell her "there was a dead body on 6th... or a movie, I can't tell." She grilled me a little bit, it seemed authentic to her too, and she immediately got on her Blackberry to try to find out any news... No luck, so we just went to dinner and forgot about it.

On the way back to Stu's, I decide we need to further investigate this "murder"... The more I am thinking about it, the less real it seems. So we drive back by, where Eagle-Eye Sara notes that the cop cars say NYPD - darn it, just a filming, not real. It turned out to be CSI:New York filming... So we decide to go park by Stu's and walk back to be looky-loo's - they wouldn't let us get close, darn it, but I was able to spot Melina Kanakaredes (I knew who she was but had to look up her name, so not THAT exciting). Here is the sad picture we got of our first "murder scene!" I also am including a video where you can spot Melina if you look really hard (it's pretty blurry, but her hair is light brown and big and she's at the back of the scene...)

I love how sad you are when you realize that the dead person is only an actor.

real dead person would have been exciting, but wouldn't have drawn a crowd like this I'm sure. Keep the sitings coming! I think they are filming a movie here in Spokane, but I forget what 'stars' are in it...and I doubt they are filming up on 61st ave, so I won't ever see them anyways...

what was L-dine doing in LA? My poor eyesight makes it look like L in the first pic.

no I'm still dead on the couch in Spokane. I WISH I was in LA. Of course, you and I can't see each other the width of a hot tub let alone a city street.
