superpost #1

okay not so super... can't get pics to upload via the Camp server. So i'll just tell you what I'm doing, then post pics on Tuesday when I get home.

We just finished the regular Camp season with Senior High last week - I was the liaison for that Camp (meaning I did all the planning, scheduling, grunt work, etc) and it was AMAZING. So much fun!!! Pia even came out for most of the week to help in the kitchen. Some highlights of the week included a Raid on Camp Lutherhaven (our "archenemies" across the lake), Lutherhaven retaliating and raiding us but then we dominated them with funoodles and a fire hose, an Olympics-themed dance (I got to light the torch), a pig roast (RIP Hank), so many crazy games that the kids started complaining about being too tired, the Sheriff visiting because we were too loud, and LOTS more! I am exhausted!

Right now we are into Post-Season, which consists mainly of weekend camps and group rentals... Camp NoLimits is here now, which is a camp for kids with missing limbs and their families. These kids are incredible, you wouldn't even know they were disabled if it weren't for the prostheses lying around the Ball Field and legs flying off while swinging! ;)

wow who knew the Episcopals had a nemesis. And there was a really nice article in today's paper about Camp No Limits!

the flying limbs is a bit of a creepy image!

Agreed. I'm sort of throwing up in my mouth picturing little legs flying off the swing-set.

Didn't you get any pictures of that?
